2024 Stewardship Award Banquet
Thursday, August 1, 2024
About 60 people attended the 13th Annual Stewardship Awards Banquet on August 1, 2024 at Holiday Acres Resort. Bart Kotarba, Director of Wildlife Education at the Northwoods Wildlife Center in Minocqua Wisconsin was our guest speaker.
Thank you to the following local businesses, lake associations and organizations who made this banquet possible with generous donations: Integrity Landscaping LLC; Lumberjack RC&D; Oneida County Lakes and Rivers Association; Pelican Lake Association-Wisconsin; Three Lakes Waterfront Association; Crescent Lake Association; Flannery/Velvet Lake Association and Squash Lake Association.
Awards were presented to members of the Friends of Town Line Lake Park, specifically Paul Schramke-FTLLP Groundskeeper, Linda Casey-FTLLP Treasurer, Dave DeMent-FTLLP Board Member, David Walters-FTLLP President, Beth Follenweider-FTLLP Vice President and Tracy Beckman-FTLLP Secretary. Other awards went to Kerry Griebenow-Three Lakes Waterfront Association Rapid Response Dive Team, Joe Steinhage-Two Sisters, Karyl Rosenberg-Tom Doyle Lake, John Ziereis and Scott Erdmann-Friends of Lone Stone Lake, and Rosie Page-WHIP Coordinator. Those who received awards but could not attend were Sally Murwin, President of the Minocqua/Kawaguesaga Lakes Association.
About 12 baskets were donated by staff, Lake Association members, local businesses, or organizations and were all given away to lucky ticket holders.

Conservation and Economic Benefits of Alley Cropping

Alley cropping combines rows of trees with agronomic or horticultural crops between the rows. This system can generate a range of farm products in tree rows including biomass, timber, fruit, or nuts while at the same time improving environmental outcomes.
